Alien Acid Fans,

We regret to inform everyone that Alien Acid Radio is being temporarily shut down.  If that made everyone all excited, then good!  We’re temporarily shutting down for good reasons!

Since the creation of AAR, our vision for the station has changed, gotten bigger, gotten better!  With this in mind, we set the launch date back to 9-9-09.  The site is (once again) going to go through a redesign with future upgrades in mind.

Rather than just be like every other radio station out there, we want our listeners to be able to dip their hands through their computer screen and be a part of it all.  We’re going to be adding a login system where our fans can have their own page to set up their favourite podcasts, shows, music, videos etc and to connect with their friends and find new ones.

We’re also going to be giving the site a new look and feel that’s slicker and way cooler than what we have thrown up now!

We’ll still be happy to get emails from fans and musicians that are interested in having their material played on air, although we won’t be doing any more podcasts until closer to the launch date.

We’re also going to be shutting the forum down for upgrades and a redesign as well.

Till then, we’ll bid you adieu and look forward to the launch date.

Are you a musician or singer who wants to be part of a band?  Let us know! All you have to do is send us some clips of you playing or singing, and we’ll consider them for play on my new feature Me, Myself, and I.

So what’s been going on at Alien Acid Radio?

Well, as some of you may know, the blog and forum have gone live.  We’ve also been working (and are still working) hard deep in the belly of the website (groan) to make Alien Acid Radio the most kick-ass internet radio station out there.

We’ve set the official launch date to 9.9.09 and put up a countdown timer on the website at www.alienacid.com.  So go there, make Alien Acid Radio your home page or bookmark us and you can check to see how long till the Official Launch!  And keep checking back to see the new fun stuff we’ve added!

In the meatime, we’re still looking for advertisers, unsigned bands, presenters/DJs, and most of all LISTENERS!  We can’t do it without you guys and we’d love to know what YOU want to hear!  Is there a band out there that you’d like to hear on our station?  Let us know! Have we played a band that you love and you want to hear more of?  Let us know! Go to here and fill in our contact form and tell us your thoughts.  Whether you want to tell us we suck, or tell us we rock, we’d love to hear from you and we never ever send spam (unless it’s a can of spam in contest, lol ) or give out your email address.

I’m sure different people choose the music they like based on different criteria. For some, it’s the music itself that has to be just so.  Some like a lot of drums, others a kick ass guitar riff.  One person may like material that others would just consider screaming noise.  For most of us, I’m sure, the lyrics have to speak to us, to say something that we can identify with.

For me personally, it’s usually the voice of the lead vocalist that does it for me.  The smooth crooning of Frank Sinatra or Elvis Costello.  Robert Smith of The Cure  belting out about being in love on Friday.  Maynard oozing out lyrics, his voice laced with sex.
